Portugal hosted for the first time an international bodysurf competition, with the stage Bodysurf Peniche Pro 2017 opening the Euro Bodysurf Tour, on 15 and 16 April.
Hugo Hiriart was the big winner in Open. In Junior, Mateo Clemente won this stage. Portugal took the lead in the other categories with Marta Leitão (Open Women), João Brogueira (Masters Men) and Teresa Ayala (Masters Women).
